If you have a water filtering system in your home, either attached to your tap or a stand alone system, you are employing a host of different filtration techniques in order to purify water that has already been filtered at your city’s water processing plant to meet federal standards for clean drinking water.
It may seem like overkill, but that those little home water filters can put your water through up to six separate filtration actions in one system.
The most common form of water filtration is a sediment filter that will trap large particles like calcium carbonate and rust. Some systems then have a second sediment filter with smaller pores, or holes, to catch smaller particles.
Next up is carbon filtration . This employs activated carbon to attract and trap chlorine and organic chemicals. This is an important step to protect the integrity of the membrane used in the next step. Reverse osmosis employs a thin film composite membrane, known as a TFC or TFM. RO uses pressure to push water through the membrane, eliminating smaller particles from the water. Some filters then employ a second carbon filter that will capture any chemicals that made it past the TFC.
An optional final step is to employ an ultra-violet lamp to disinfect any microbes that survived the previous steps.
In some systems the first carbon filter is replaced by a cellulose triacetate membrane. However the CTA requires chlorine to prevent it from breaking done while the TFC can be broken down by chlorine, which means an additional carbon filter is added back to the end of the process to remove chlorine from the water.

For decades the only work available for copywriters was being employed as part of creative teams at advertising and public relations companies. As the direct mail industry grew, jobs became available there creating the mailers, brochures, and other marketing pieces being distributed to the public. The only freelancers were those doing odd assignments when looking for a permanent position.
As with many other fields, the internet came along and changed the entire landscape. Now copywriters can make a solid living through freelance assignments. In fact, many established writers have left their agencies for the freedom and flexibility offered by freelancing.
The driving force behind this change is the ability of the internet to connect publishers and agencies directly to copywriters seeking contract work. Agencies no longer need to employ regular staff when they can bid out individual projects.
Another factor in the rise of copywriting work is that the internet is a full of web sites that need persuasive content. Someone has to write those blogs, sites, direct email, and internet ads. It is impossible to calculate just how many new copywriting jobs have opened up due to the internet — and that work just keeps multiplying as new sites and formats are created every day.

Walking into a store that sells playground equipment can be daunting. Even looking at online stores to understand the options available can be overwhelming. The wealth of different materials, styles, and options available to customize a simple swing set can be staggering. The more you know about your financial situation and your kids, the easier it will be to make the final choice.
Know how much money you have to spend. This won’t help you choose what set is ideal for your kids, but it will help you eliminate options that are too expensive. Setting a reasonable budget is a good first step. However, you’ll want to remember that purchasing a swing set is an investment that should last many years and that safety features may cost more than you think.
Next, consider the age and size of your kids as well as how much you expect them to grow over the next few years. Most backyard swings are only rated to hold 100 pounds of weight and are not safe for kids over 10 years of age. Metal and wooden sets will hold heavier weights than plastic sets, which are usually reserved for very small children . Different materials will also have different lifespans in terms of regular wear and tear and deterioration due to weather.
Lastly, make sure that you carefully read any warranties for Swing Set Parts as well as for the sets as a whole. You’ll also want to make sure you understand how to inspect and maintain the set and how long individual parts are expected to last before needing to be replaced.
