Lots of Work for Copywriters

For decades the only work available for copywriters was being employed as part of creative teams at advertising and public relations companies. As the direct mail industry grew, jobs became available there creating the mailers, brochures, and other marketing pieces being distributed to the public. The only freelancers were those doing odd assignments when looking for a permanent position.

As with many other fields, the internet came along and changed the entire landscape. Now copywriters can make a solid living through freelance assignments. In fact, many established writers have left their agencies for the freedom and flexibility offered by freelancing.

The driving force behind this change is the ability of the internet to connect publishers and agencies directly to copywriters seeking contract work. Agencies no longer need to employ regular staff when they can bid out individual projects.

Another factor in the rise of copywriting work is that the internet is a full of web sites that need persuasive content. Someone has to write those blogs, sites, direct email, and internet ads. It is impossible to calculate just how many new copywriting jobs have opened up due to the internet — and that work just keeps multiplying as new sites and formats are created every day.

Why Key Tags are Smart Business

Consumers are being buried in cards. In addition to expected cards like a drivers license or insurance cards, they are being asked to carry membership cards, shopping club cards, rewards cards, and, of course, the ubiquitous collection of credit cards. This results in both crowded wallets and a drain on time spent at a cash register as they try to locate a specific store card for a discount or reward points as well as the credit or debit card to pay for the transaction.

The answer to this growing inconvenience is the handy key tag . The design is the saving grace of this relatively new alternative to regular sized cards. It’s not just the smaller size that makes the tags attractive, it’s that they are made to fit on a key ring rather than take up space in the wallet. This means they are more readily accessible for use — it’s much easier to flip thru tags on a ring than shuffle through cards buried in a wallet.

Another benefit to key tags is that they are secured. It’s highly unlikely that someone will leave a key tag with the cashier since they need their keys to drive back home or to the office. They are also less likely to be dropped or misplaced when going through a wallet or purse. This is why some credit card and debit cards are now available as key tags and some libraries are using tags instead of full sized cards.

Testing New York Mortgage Loan Originators

The New York mortgage test is taken after a 20 hour New York Secure and Fair Enforcement Mortgage Licensing Act comprehensive course that is designed to meet the major criteria established by the SAFE Act designed for national mortgage loan originators, which includes courses on federal lending legislation, of fair lending and ethics and about non-traditional lending products.

In addition, the text presents elective topics specially selected to give mortgage loan originators the information they need to successfully enter the mortgage lending field. The course provides a primer on the primary and secondary mortgage markets , as well as a review of the economic, legal and valuation aspects of the real estate market. It also includes detailed types of loan products and finance instruments such as conventional, government and non-traditional financial tools that are available in today’s market. They will learn the fundamentals of the residential mortgage lending process from pre-qualifying potential borrowers, to understanding appraisals to closing a loan.

SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act requires not only New York, but all states to implement a mortgage loan originator licensing process. The New York Legislature responded by passing the New York Banking Law. Article 12-E, is the sections which requires all mortgage loan originators to be licensed. The 20-hour NMLS course will examine the new Legislation, other laws and regulations in the state of New York related to consumer protection that affect the mortgage industry in general and mortgage loan originators specifically.

Tips to Improve Your Trade Show Display

Trade show displays need artwork or graphics that makes them standout from the rest of the hundreds and possibly thousands of displays at the same trade show. Your exhibit should have conceptual characteristics that convey what a potential client wants to see. Following these few simple guidelines will get your trade show display on its way to attracting the clientele you need.

First, don’t focus on your competitor’s product by comparing the advantages or disadvantages. Only focus on your product or service and their qualities. Second, create visuals that are salient to your product or service. Pictures are best especially ones that demonstrate the product or service in action. Text should be kept to a minimum and mostly used in the brochures. Next, prepare and rehearse a short oral introduction. The sales person needs to keep the product or service information as brief as possible and genuinely present to the interested party. Once the potential client is hooked, then hand them the brochure.

It’s important to understand these three simple tactics for attracting clients to your booth. Most businesses at trade shows make the mistake that potential clients have time to read all the great information they’ve so carefully constructed for consumers to be fascinated with, but the only time you need to hit a potential client with facts and figures is once you’ve hooked them in with visuals and after a short oral introduction.

Complaints Management System

If your company is dependent on repeat customers then installing a complaints management system requires that you have certain information gathered before the implementation process. A good place to start is with your complaints management procedures. Do the staff have access to the procedures and is the staff including top management knowledgeable of the procedures? What about your customers? Do they have access to the customer complaint management system?

Other things to consider include: Are employees trained in complaint management and have they been given the authority to deal with complaints with escalation to higher levels of management if the complaint is serious. Does the complaint data in the form of reports go to top management and quality control?

Positive Attitude

Everyone who’s ever had a run of luck in anything, whether money or love, understands that a positive attitude really is at the center of things.  It’s true that having a small nibble coming your way, out of the blue, is sometimes necessary to get things rolling, but once they are in motion, it’s always going to move along better when your outlook is sunny.  This isn’t the kind of secret that needs to be kept hidden, and in fact it’s one of the basic tenets of the laws of attraction that seem to run through everything.  Like attracts like is something that the mystics and the alchemists knew for centuries, and some basic idea of this can be found in every spiritual tradition.

In contemporary times, when things seem to be so much more complicated than they ever were, with new technologies and new conceptions of systems that seem to arise every day, it’s easy to get caught up in the complexity.  Sometimes it’s necessary to go back to the simple ideas again, to mine them for what they might be worth.  It’s helpful, then, to start with employee training, and teach people the benefits of positive thinking from the very start.  Even though it’s something we all learn in business school, it can get left by the wayside as we start to pursue our own dreams and designs in the world.  Getting back to the basics of a positive outlook can refresh a career, and are also a pretty fantastic way to begin every day.

The truth is, customers do respond positively to positive attitudes.  It’s something that we learn in sales training, and the basics of this idea are very simple indeed.  Perhaps it’s because they’re so simple, and perhaps it’s because we do see reminders of this on nearly every billboard, that it seems too easy.  It’s the very simplicity that is the key to its mystery, however, and it’s one way of always going back to the beginning, but with a gloriously fresh start that offers almost immediate results.  Good sales practices can be the perfect laboratory for this law, and it’s one that can never be fully understood, but always offers more.
